Renowned Nigerian artist Davido is once again at the forefront of global discussions regarding the international expansion of Afrobeats. Despite recent conflicts with Tiwa Savage back home, Davido continues to make a significant impact on the global music scene. The organizers, UnitedMasters, have confirmed that Davido, along with international acts Tokischa from the Dominican Republic and South African DJ-artist Uncle Waffles, is set to headline the upcoming Grammy Weekend Concert.
Despite the social media buzz around his recent dispute with Tiwa Savage, Davido appears unfazed. UnitedMasters' recent announcement suggests that the singer is fully occupied with his musical endeavors. The Grammy Weekend Concert, scheduled for February 2nd, 2024, at the Hollywood Palladium, will also feature notable attendees such as Jay-Z, Beyonce, Tobe Nwigwe, and Burna Boy.
This isn't the first occurrence of the Grammy Weekend Concert, as the 2023 edition saw international superstars like Brent Faiyaz, Russ, and Tobe Nwigwe, attracting a crowd of 2,500 fans. Prominent figures from the American music and movie industry, including Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Nas, DJ Khaled, Wiz Khalifa, Future, Daniel Kaluuya, Damson Idris, Gayle King, Jermaine Dupri, Grandmaster Flash, and more, were also in attendance.
The Grammy Weekend Concert serves as a prelude to the main award show and is part of the buildup events. Davido is among the five Nigerian artists nominated for the 66th Grammy Awards, and we extend our best wishes to him and the other Nigerian nominees as they proudly represent their country on the global stage.
