New Price Update: The federal government raises petrol landing costs, extinguishing hopes for lower fuel prices.
The Federal Government has adjusted the landing cost for importing petrol. Marketers would now clear shipment at an additional 4% to what was previously obtainable under the new guidelines. Since the petroleum market is yet to be fully deregulated, the pump prices of the commodity will be hinged on prevailing market forces. It further showed that the landing cost of imported PMS rose by 4% from N919.55 per liter in September to N956.13 in October 2024, due to the performance of the naira against the US dollar.
