A Nigerian state governor declared a public holiday on Monday. And, of course, that pleased the people within the state.

Ogun State Government has declared Monday, October 7, a work-free day to celebrate the Teachers' Day. This, therefore, implies that all public and private schools will be on holiday on this day. This declaration was by Governor Dapo Abiodun, which he did in commemoration of Teachers' Day. This is a one-day holiday, and schools will resume normal classes on Tuesday, October 8.
In similar fashion, the Osun State government declared Monday a public holiday to mark the World teachers day
